TOPICS & SPEAKERS
MC for the evening – Alison Adams, CEO Christchurch NZ
1. Regulatory Affairs – from exchange of experience to professional support
Healthtech and digital health technologies often face the challenges of overcoming regulatory hurdles, which are especially stringent in healthcare. Annett Arndt, Director of the Johner Institute, a professional service provider that supports companies in bringing their medical devices to market, will discuss navigating regulatory challenges. Annett will also talk about the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS), a global organisation involved in the regulation of healthcare and related products.
2. Retaining your talented workforce
The NZ market is experiencing a significant shortage of candidates across all industries, with organisations and recruiters actively targeting a passive candidate market to attract talent. Webtools Client & Partnership Director, Al Duncan, knows first-hand the importance of a great company culture. He will spearhead this topic speaking to work-place retention and culture amidst an aggressive and competitive job market.
3. Logistical and Supply Chain Challenges
Supply chain performance and disruption are ongoing issues and are predicted to continue for some time. NZTE offers supply chain reviews for their customers. Noël Thomson, Supply Chain Advisor for NZTE will share some of the key pain points, and how by utilising private sector external supply chain expertise, NZTE’s reviews can help customers examine all aspects of their supply chain, and look at solutions and options to optimise it.
4. Establishment of The Health Technology Centre at The Arts Centre
In February 2023 The Health Technology Centre will open in the last two buildings to be restored in the decade-long restoration of the original home of Canterbury University. The Centre will be housed in what was the first School of Engineering in Aotearoa. The Centre will host a cluster of technology companies and is aimed at those companies emerging from incubators. The Centre will be a place of support, connection and community so we can foster and grow the healthtech sector in Canterbury. Madeleine Martin, who is involved in the development of the Centre, and was the previous General Manager of Ossis, will present the concept and ambitions of the Centre.
